Gardaí in Dublin have launched an investigation after a young man was left with life changing injuries following an attack on Thursday evening.
It is understood the investigation comes after the 18-year-old was attacked by a group of up to 20 youths in a laneway at Thorndale Walk, in Artane on Thursday evening.
It is believed that the group fled the scene in the Rockfield Park direction following the incident which occurred between 8pm and 9pm.
Gardaí say the teenager sustained a number of serious injuries but they are believed to be non-life threatening.
