Garda investigation underway after two Muslim men are attacked in Limerick




Gardaí in Limerick have launched an investigation after two men were assaulted in an alleged racially motivated attack.

According to The Limerick Leader, the investigation comes after two Muslim men aged in their 30s and 40s were assaulted whilst on their way to Al Furqan Mosque, last Sunday.

It is believed that the men were attacked by a group of three men as they were making there to evening prayers on the first night of Ramadan.

Gardaí say the men were ambushed by the group as they walked down Henry Street and towards Windmill Street.

It is understood the two men were taken to hospital for treatment following the incident.
