A new 31 social housing unit developed by Focus Ireland has officially opened today.
In a ceremony that saw the Minister for Housing Eoghan Murphy in attendance, the new social housing estate was opened at John’s Lane West.
The latest development which is aimed at providing more affordable social housing comes after an emergency accommodation hostel was closed at the site in 2015.
However speaking to RTÉ News Minister Murphy said that the Government remained committed to providing more affordable housing.
He added that the Government are planning to build 10,000 more affordable homes in the coming years ahead.
