Gardaí in Co Wexford have begun an investigation after an elderly woman was disgracefully knocked to the ground and robbed as she made her way home from mass.
According to The Irish Mirrornewspaper, the 82-year-old was attacked as she made her way home from mass in New Ross.
It is understood the woman was approached by the man at approximately 7pm after attending Mass on Saturday evening at St Mary and St Michael’s Parish Church.
Gardaí investigating the incident say the woman was left badly shaken following the attack and had her handbag stolen in the incident.
It is believed the woman was approached by a man aged in his 20s, of slim build and was wearing a purple top.
