Gardaí in Cork have begun an investigation following an alleged sexual assault last weekend.
The investigation comes after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in the Connolly Rd/Vicars Rd, area of Ballyphehane in the city.
Gardaí say the alleged attack occurred between the hours of 4am and 7am and they are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious to come forward and contact them.
