Gardaí in Co Meath have launched an investigation following an armed robbery in Ashbourne.
It is understood the robbery occurred at a bookmakers on Main Street, at approximatley 7:10pm on Wednesday evening.
A man apparently entered the premises wearing a helmet and was armed with a handgun.
Gardai investigating the robbery say the man then threatened staff before making off with a sum of money.
It is believed the man fled the scene on a motorcycle and was heading towards Dublin.
Gardaí also say thankfully no one was injured during the robbery.
