Gardai in Cork have launched an investigation following an attempted robbery at a Credit Union.
It is understood that the investigation comes after a man armed with a hatchet and a hammer threatened staff at a Credit Union on the Togher Road.
The incident which occurred at approximately 2:30pm thankfully saw no one injured and it is believed that the man fled the scene on a bicycle.
Gardai say the man left the scene empty handed and an investigation is currently ongoing.
