Gardai in Limerick have launched an investigation after a man aged in his 40s was shot on Thursday evening.
It is understood the man was taken to University Hospital Limerick following the shooting which occurred on Castle Street at approximately 7pm.
Gardai say the man currently remains in stable condition.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing and no arrests have been made.
