Gardaí in Cork have begun an investigation following a suspected hit and run incident over the weekend.
It is understood the investigation comes after a man aged in his 20s sustained multiple injuries following an incident on Upper John Street in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Gardaí say the man was taken to Cork University Hospital and currently remains in serious condition.
