Gardai have launched an investigation after a woman in her 40s was fatally stabbed at a house in Clondalkin, Dublin early this morning.
The victim was identified as 41-year-old mother of three Catherine Ward.
Paramedics were called to a house in the Greenfort Area of Clondalkin shortly after midnight. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man in his 50s has been arrested in connection with the incident.
