Garda liason officer has been sent to Malaysia to help assist in the search for missing teenager Nora Quoirin

Gardaí have confirmed that a Garda liason officer has been sent to Malaysia to help assist in the search for missing teenager Nóra Quoirin.

In a statement Gardaí confirmed that the liason officer has travelled to Kuala Lumpur, to assist in the search for the 15-year-old who went missing Dusun Holiday Resort, last Sunday.

Gardaí say the liason officer will assist the Department of Foreign Affairs as well as Malaysian police authorities.

The officer will also work with French and UK authorities as the search for Nóra continues.

The news comes as officials searched a 6km radius around the resort on Friday.

Officials say they are treating the case as a missing persons case and further search operations are to continue over the weekend.
