Garda “none the wiser” as they released woman arrested in connection with Kyran Durnin’s suspected murder

Garda appear to be completely at a loss as to what exactly happened to Kyran Durnin, the 8-yr-old boy missing from Drogheda.

A woman who was arrested in connection with the murder of 8-yr-old Kyran Durnin, who has been missing since August of this year. However, authorities believe he may have been killed two years ago. Kyran was last seen alive in May 2022 when he was six years old.

The woman has been released without charge by gardai this evening.

The woman, believed to be in her 20s, was arrested on Tuesday and was being held at a garda station in the northeast of the country under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, which allowed for questioning for up to 24 hours. Gardaí at Drogheda Garda Station are continuing to appeal for any information related to Kyran’s murder.

Additionally, Tusla, the Child and Family Agency, is conducting a review of the case, although they have stated that the findings will not be published. A separate report concerning information held by Tusla’s Education Support Service (TESS) is expected to be shared with Minister for Education Norma Foley this week.
