A garda is recovering today after a traumatic experience in Dublin last evening that resulted him being stabbed.
Luckily, according to a garda source that relayed information to The Liberal, the garda is said to be shaken but not seriously injuried.
“His vest saved him, he will be alright but he was lucky”.
A man was arrested following an attack on a garda in Dublin city centre on Tuesday evening on Capel Street, shortly after 6pm.
The garda, who was on a high-visibility patrol, was stabbed in an unprovoked assault. He was rushed to hospital, thankfully with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect remains in custody and can be questioned for up to 24 hours.
