It is looking ever more likely this morning that the country will see strike action under taken by rank and file Gardaí this coming Friday.
The potential and disruptive strike action is set to take place after members of Garda Representative Association (GRA) unanimously rejected a new offer put forward by the Department of Justice following last night.
Speaking about the decision to reject the proposal GRA president Ciaran O’Neill said the offers put on the table were insufficient.
However Mr O’Neil said he and the association are still willing to hold further talks with the Government to resolve the issue, but as it currently stands he and his colleagues are preparing for strike this coming Friday.
