A garda was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries following an assault in an Irish county.
The incident happened on Townsend Street in Birr, Co. Offaly, in recent days.
It is understood that the garda attended a call about an intoxicated male causing disruption. The male reportedly became violent towards gardai. He was subsequently taken to Birr Garda station.
