Gardaí in Galway are appealing for witnesses to come forward and contact them following two assaults in the city last weekend.
The appeal comes after two men were assaulted in two separate attacks on Eglington Street between 1.30am and 2.30 a.m on Saturday.
Gardaí say a man aged in his 40s was assaulted near the Cellar Bar at approximately 1:45am and he was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Meanwhile another man aged in his 20s was also the victim of an alleged assault after he was attacked near Brown Thomas at Eglinton Street at approximately 2am.
Gardaí say the man was also hospitalised for minor injuries.
They added that they are currently receiving CCTV footage in the area.
