Gardai appeal for video footage after group left man for dead in Dublin city centre attack




A young man is fighting for his life after being seriously assaulted by a group of men in central Dublin, reports The Mirror.

The horrific attack happened in the early hours of this morning, with 911 being called to the scene in Anne Street South – just off Grafton Street – just after 1.30am.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to St James’s Hospital and has since been transferred to Beaumont Hospital.

His condition is currently critical but stable.

Gardai say he was injured “in the course of an incident involving a number of males”, reports The Mirror.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai at Pearse Street are appealing for witnesses following the serious assault of a man in Dublin City on Sunday 5th March, 2023. Emergency Services were alerted shortly after 1:30am after a man in his 20s was seriously injured in the course of an incident involving a number of males on Anne Street South, Dublin 2. The injured man was removed from the scene to St James’s Hospital by Ambulance and has since been transferred to Beaumont Hospital where his condition is understood to be critical but stable,” reports The Mirror.
