Gardai in Charville in Cork are investigating an alleged rape of a 17-yr-old girl which occurred last Sunday night.
The girl was out with friends at a nightclub until 3am. She was walking towards her house, just outside the Church in Charville when she was approached by a man coming behind her.
Initially he tried to start a conversation but that soon escalated to allegedly dragging the girl 500 metres away into a nearby green and raping her.
The girl’s mother got worried and started walking into the town to find the girl when she couldn’t contact her on the phone.
She met her daughter in a distressed state and they immediately contacted An Gardai.
A full investigation is now being carried out with CCTV being used to investigate the claims.
