Gardai have arrested a man following an armed standoff in the capital.
The incident happened as Gardai approached a house in the Whitechapel Grove area of Dublin to warn a man about impending danger to his life. A number of shots then rang out, forcing Gardai to take cover. Two Gardai sustained non-fatal injuries.
A standoff ensued, and the man, who’s known to be involved in organized crime activities, eventually agreed to exit the property. He was arrested at the scene.
