Gardai in Drogheda are currently questioning two men after a brutal vicious attack took place in the middle of the town earlier today.
It is understood that the vicious assault took place after two men aapparently jumped out of a van and attacked two men. The disgusting attack broke out at approximately 11.30am on West Street which is the main street in the town. The vicious assault was viewed by a large group of over a hundred people.
The attack was had clearly terrified the onlooking crowd as people were screaming and running out of the way as it occurred beside a pedestrian crossing. One onlooker spoke of the assault saying: “There was blood everywhere and the men got a really bad beating. “Gardai arrived on the scene quickly and discovered the two bloodied men. A broken brush, which they believe was used in the attack, was also found on the street next to bloodstains. “This is a very serious attack and it’s clear those involved had no regard for the law.”
Gardai say they have arrested one man in connection with the incident he is currently being held in Drogheda garda station.
