Gardai have arrested five people following an hour-long high-speed chase across two counties.
The incident began after a vehicle failed to stop at a checkpoint in Headford, Galway on Easter Monday. The offending vehicle drove out of Headford and into nearby Tuam, then crossed the county line into Mayo and then Kilmaine before returning to Headford, where the car ran into a dead end.
Gardai arrested the car’s five occupants on the spot.
