Gardaí in Cork have confirmed they have arrested a man in connection with a hit and run incident in the city last Saturday.
It is understood the arrest comes after a woman aged in her 20s sustained life changing injuries after she was struck on the Magazine Road, in the early hours of last Saturday morning.
Gardaí say the man is currently being detained at Bridewell Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
