Gardai have arrested a man who was posing as a medical professional at University Hospital Waterford.
It is understood that a member of staff met the person wandering around the wards wearing scrubs and an stethoscope. When challenged, the impostor said that he was working in a non-existent department. The member of staff called Gardai, and the fraudster was arrested.
Questions remain as to whether or not the false doctor tended to any patients.
