Gardai arrest teenager thug after woman aged in her 70s badly injured following car robbery




A teenager has been arrested in connection with the theft of a vehicle from a home in Firhill, Parteen, Co. Clare, reports Breaking News.

The theft happened at around 6:15pm on Friday evening.

During the incident, a woman in her 70s sustained injuries that were described as non-life threatening. She was brought to University Hospital Limerick for medical care, reports Breaking News.

Multiple Garda units responded, and the stolen car was later found in the Clonard area of Parteen after crashing into a ditch.

A male juvenile was arrested and brought to a Garda Station in Limerick, where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, reports Breaking News.

He has since been referred to the Youth Diversion Programme, and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí are calling on any witnesses to come forward, reports Breaking News.

They are especially interested in hearing from road users with camera footage — including dash-cam — who were travelling on the R464 near Parteen Village and in the Clonard area at the time of the incident.
