Gardai have arrested three teenagers suspected to be involved in the attempted armed robbery of an off-licence in Mullingar on Tuesday evening.
The incident happened on the Ashe Road in Mullingar town, in Co. Westmeath, just after 8pm.
One staff member managed to fend off the raiders, who were arrested a short time later.
The perpetrators are being held at Mullingar Garda Station.
