Gardai have arrested two people following a serious assault in the south of the country.
The incident happened in Cork city on Thursday evening.
It is understood that a man in his mid-40s was found on the Lower Glanmire Road with serious head injuries. He’s in a critical condition in hospital.
A man and woman in their late 20s have been arrested in connection with this incident.
