Gardai have reportedly caught 127 speeding motorists during the first few hours of Slow Down Day.
It is understood that 37,916 cars were checked between 7am and noon.
The event will remain in place until 7am tomorrow, and interestingly, the state of the roads will likely remain as poor as the day before.
