
A cyclist has lost his life following a road traffic accident in Carrigtwohill, Co Cork, reports RTE.
The collision, which involved a van and the cyclist, occurred on Tuesday evening on the eastbound side of the N25.
The cyclist, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene, reports RTE.
His remains have been taken to Cork University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
The van driver, also a man in his 60s, received treatment at the scene, reports RTE.
Gardaà have confirmed that the section of road where the incident happened has been closed off and a technical examination is scheduled for tomorrow morning.
They have made an appeal for witnesses and are asking anyone who was in the area between 4.30pm and 5pm and may have camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, to share it with them, reports RTE.
