Gardaí in Co Cork have sadly confirmed that the body of a fisherman who went missing on Wednesday has been recovered.
According to RTÉ News, the body of the man aged in his 20s was recovered from Carbery Island in Dunmanus Bay on Sunday.
The news comes after a search operation was carried out in the region in recent days.
Gardaí say the man’s body has since been taken to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.
