Gardaí have confirmed that a total of 300 people have been arrested following the launch of its Christmas road safety campaign.
In figures published this week, Garda officials say all 300 were arrested on suspicion of driving whilst intoxicated.
Gardaí say a total of 264 people have been arrested on suspicion of drink driving, whilst a further 37 were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
The figures come after Gardai launched their campaign on Friday November 29th.
