Gardaí Galway have confirmed that a woman who was rescued the River Corrib, has sadly passed away.
According to GalwayBay FM, the woman who entered the water at O’Brien’s Bridge at approximately 2.30pm on Monday afternoon, sadly passed away in hospital.
It is understood that she was rescued following at Lough Atalia, 40 minute search.
However despite being taken to hospital for treatment, the woman was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
