Gardai have confirmed that they are to increase patrols from today onwards in order to stop large gatherings.
In a statement made today An Garda Siochana said that foot patrols and bike patrols will be increased in public places across the country.
Gardai say checks at retail stores will continue in order to check that retailers are compliant with Covid-19 public health guidelines.
They added that checkpoints will also continue on public roads in order to monitor travel restrictions.
