Gardaí have confirmed this evening they have restored their computer system which was inflected with malware last week.
Gardaí were forced to heighten their security last Thursday after the virus was discovered.
However thankfully all systems were restored over the weekend and Gardaí issued the following statement this afternoon.
“Any security risks to the Garda ICT systems are treated with the highest importance and standard security protocols are implemented.
“Working with security experts the threat was identified and an appropriate solution was implemented across all Garda ICT systems. ”
They say that while access has been restored, heightened security measures have been put in place as a precaution.
