Gardai confiscate major haul of “harmless” fireworks as part of Halloween clampdown




Gardaí have seized almost €20,000 worth of illegal fireworks after raiding a premises in Louth as part of a large-scale crackdown on illegal fireworks ahead of Halloween.

Fireworks and a small amount of suspected cocaine were discovered at a property in Louth.

The sale, possession or use of fireworks is illegal in Ireland.

It is also illegal to possess fireworks legally purchased outside your jurisdiction before bringing them into the state.

Gardaí have warned that they will be confiscating fireworks this Halloween and anyone found in possession of such items will face prosecution.
