Gardai say that they fear more violence is to come this bank holiday weekend following a brutal night on Friday after crowds poured into Dublin city centre.
A total of 14 people were arrested due to public order offences.
A total of 9 adults and 5 juveniles were arrested and detained at two garda stations in the city.
A large fight broke out half way up South William St even though gardai had closed off the street.
Revellers, many of whom were heavily intoxicated, also got embroiled in altercations with gardai, who were still dealing with rows at 2am in the south side of the city centre.
Gardai say that they’ll be out today, tomorrow and Monday, and will use all force necessary to ensure guidelines are met including taking people’s drink and arresting people.
