Two people died and two others were seriously injured in a two-car collision in County Louth. The crash happened on the R173 at The Bush shortly after 3:10pm yesterday with details emerging this morning.
A man and a woman, both in their 70s, who were travelling in one of the vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver and passenger of the second car, a man and woman both in their 30s, were airlifted to Beaumont Hospital and the Mater Hospital in Dublin.
The road was closed for a technical examination but has since reopened.
