Gardaí conducting a routine road traffic stop were given a surprise of sorts as they found a horse in the back of van.
According to the Garda Twitter page the horse was found inside the back of a Ford Transit van which was stopped for no insurance on Thursday afternoon.
Gardaí from Store Street say the driver of the vehicle was arrested at the scene and the horse was taken in by an animal rescue group.
