Gardai have been out in force for this, the first week of 2020.
Checkpoints have been seen up and down the country, in particular in the capital where large numbers of gardai were stopping people and checking all their particulars, including insurance, tax, NCT and drink and driving limits.
It’s expected that gardai will be holding checkpoints again today, Sunday.
