Gardai have identified a young male teenager as a ‘person of interest’ in the case of the lone female assaulted in Cork on Saturday night.
A female in her 20s was grabbed as she walked down Evergreen St. in the city and suffered a savage and sustained assault.
She was rushed to Cork University Hospital for treatment.
It is understood that CCTV footage captured the assailant following his victim for a time before the assault took place.
