The assault on a young girl is believed to have occurred at roughly 10pm on Friday the 13th with reports stating that a teenage disco had been taking place in a close proximity to the assault.
Two teenage boys have been arrested on the 13th and released in connection to the investigation into the assault of the young girl in Letterkenny over the St Valentines weekend. The youths were released following questioning at around 6pm on Saturday evening. Gardaí have stated that investigation is on-going.
A commercial premises near the Port Road roundabout had its rear car park sealed off by Gardaí as part of the investigation, it has since reopened . A number of people who were in the area at the time have been interviewed by the Gardaí and CCTV footage which covers the car park area is being reviewed by the investigating Gardaí.
Due to the nature of the attack and also the age of the victim and of the two teenage boys who were questioned , Gardaí have not released the names or specific details of the assault.
