Gardai in Limerick have launched an investigation after a man was found chained and injured near a roundabout in the outskirts of the city on Tuesday morning.
It is understood that passing Gardai spotted a man with apparent injuries near the Kilmallock Road roundabout. On closer inspection, Gardai noticed that the man was restrained.
Emergency services attended the scene and freed the man, who was transferred to hospital for treatment.
Gardai believe that mental health may have been an issue in this unusual incident.
