Gardaí have launched an investigation into a reported assault that occurred in Tallaght, Dublin, reports Breaking News.
The incident took place on Parkhill Road at around 6pm on Saturday evening.
A man in his 40s was brought to Tallaght Hospital to receive medical care, reports Breaking News.
Laura O’Reilly, who leads Dublin South West Together, said the community is stunned by what is believed to be a hate-motivated attack.
Speaking to Newstalk, she said: “The community are just really shocked and horrified that this has happened in our community in Tallaght. We’ve always been a diverse community, and people in Tallaght have always fought for equality and a safe space for everybody with no exceptions,” reports Breaking News.
