Gardai in Co Wicklow have revealed that they have issued over 100 travel fines for Covid-19 breaches over the weekend.
It is understood that Gardai were forced to turn in the region of 200 people back after they were found in breach of Covid-19 restrictions.
Gardai in the county say they have issued over 100 travel fines after people were found in breach if the 5km restriction rule.
Although Gardai say there has been a large amount of compliance across the country, they say a number of fines in the Wicklow region on Saturday.
They also urge the public to adhere to public health guidelines and not to travel further than 5km from their home unless it is for an essential reason.
