Gardai have issued a warning to shoppers after a recent spike in thefts in and around Cork city centre.
The thefts tend to be non-violent, and usually involve one person asking for directions or creating some sort of distraction while an accomplice takes the target’s cash and valuables.
Gardai are investigating the possibility that the same organized gang is behind the robberies.
