Gardai are this afternoon investigating the circumstances surrounding the finding of a body in Co. Cork earlier today.
It is understood that the body, which was found near the R597 road in Glandore, Co. Cork, was that of a retired member of the Force.
Locals said that the 57-year-old man had been out socialising yesterday evening.
There is no evidence of foul play at this stage, but Gardai are not ruling anything out yet.
