Tributes have been paid to Irishman John Pender after he tragically died after being stabbed in the neck while on a family holiday on the Costa Del Sol.

It’s understood that Mr Pender was in Pógs Irish bar in Fuengirola when he was attacked from behind by a British man.

The British man, who lives in Spain, was arrested at the scene with some onlookers saying that he was acting the maggot and trying to chat up women all night who weren’t interested.

The man who attacked John tried to run out of the pub but security grabbed him and held him until police arrived. It’s understood that neither man knew each other before the murder.
