Gardai have launched an investigation after two pedestrians were injured, one of them critically, by a car.
The incident happened on Lord Edward Street, in Ballina, Co. Mayo, on Tuesday evening.
A man in his 40s was critically injured, while a female child sustained non life-threatening injuries.
