Gardai have launched an investigation following an alleged assault in the south of the country that left a man with serious injuries.
The incident happened in Charleville, Co. Cork, on Friday afternoon.
A man in his late 20s sustained serious injuries during an altercation with a group of people.
The victim was rushed to University Hospital Limerick, where his condition is described as ‘stable’.
