Gardai have launched an investigation following an assault in Waterford overnight.
The incident, which involved two males, happened on Merchant’s Quay on Friday evening.
One of the men involved sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to University Hospital Waterford for treatment.
A male in his 20s has been arrested in connection with this incident.
