Gardai launch investigation following death of an elderly pedestrian in an Irish county




Gardai have launched an investigation following the death of an elderly pedestrian in an Irish county.

The incident happened on Castle Street in Cahir, Co. Tipperary, shortly before 6pm on Sunday evening.

The victim, an elderly male, was hit by a car. He was rushed to Cork University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Gardai are asking for witnesses to contact 052 744 5630, or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
